About FMCG

What does FMCG stand for?

Fast Moving Consumer Goods

Everyone recognises the products in the FMCG industry because they are the products that sit in your fridge, your kitchen cupboard and your bathroom cabinet.

These are the brands that are found in every home, in every shop, in every corner of New Zealand.

They are called ‘fast moving’ because they are products that are generally used on a daily or frequent basis, have a defined shelf life and are purchased frequently.

Examples of FMCG products include food and beverages, toiletries, cleaning products, personal care items and over-the-counter medicines.

The FMCG sector is characterised by high sales volumes, competition and a focus on marketing and distribution efficiency.

The FMCG industry plays a critical role in the global economy and offers numerous career opportunities across various functions and around the world!
